Course Outline

New Zealand Certificate in Manufacturing (Level 3)

It is targeted at those currently working in a general manufacturing or general food processing operation production or processing lines.

Graduates will be able to: 

• Apply an understanding of workplace health and safety requirements to contribute to a safe working environment
• Maintain and control a manufacturing process to ensure product quality
• Carry out operational tasks within a manufacturing process to meet organisational and customer requirements

This programme leads into the New Zealand Certificate in Manufacturing (Level 4) with an optional strand in Technical Support and /or the NZ Certificate in Business (Introduction to Team Leadership) (Level 3) / (First Line Management) (Level 4)

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the manufacturing sector with people who have the knowledge and skills to work as an operator in a manufacturing plant, under limited supervision.
